Quick Five MInute Crocheted Flower

Crocheted Flower Quick

Everyone needs a quick crocheted flower to add to their repetoire— you know the kind of little crocheted flower that you can whip up in say five minutes if you need just one, or devote a few hours here and there and make a bunch! Little flowers like this are of course great to make with spare minutes here and there, waiting for an appointment, or waiting for a bus, or waiting for just about anything!

And with the Jewish holiday of Shavuous just around the corner, now is the time to start thinking flowers! These little flowers would make great napkin rings, or hung mobile style over an entry way, or from an embroidery hoop. Truthfully, I needed a little flower for a project I’m going to share with you tomorrow, and when I couldn’t find one that was just right, I made this one up myself using what I’d learned making three or so other versions that weren’t quite right!

Crocheted Simple Flower

Five Minute Six Petal Crocheted Flower Pattern:

Using a 5mm hook and worsted weight yarn (or the yarn and hook of your choice):

Chain 4 and join with a slip stitch.

Round 1: Chain one, make 11 single crochet stitches into the ring, and join to first single crochet with a slip stitch.

Round 2: Chain 3, double crochet into same stitch, chain 3, slip stitch into same stitch. *Chain 3, double crochet into next stitch and chain three and slip stitch into same stitch. Slip stitch into next stitch, and continue around from * to make six petals total. Cut yarn and pull through last stitch. Weave in ends and voila, you did it in five minutes!

Thanks for the adorable pattern. My daughter made a couple as embellishments and they look lovely.
She did however mention that starting with 11 sc instead of ten makes the last petal come out better.
    Good Shabbos/good week!

I’m a bit confused. There are 11 sc plus the chain. I am coming up with 11 petals. Can you please tell me where I went wrong?

Thanks so much for pointing out the mistake in the pattern sorry about that! There should be a slip stitch into one of the scs between each petal. So six petals plus six slip stitches equals 11sc plus the chain.
    all the best!
