Make A Scrappy Yarn Ball After You Finish Weaving In Those Pesky Ends!

This week is turning out to be a week about resourcefulness here on the blog, which makes sense as upcycling and recycling is certainly up my alley. So here goes……

Ever gazed wistfully at the pile of little or not so little yarn ends that was the result of weaving in the ends after completing a colorful crochet project? That little pile can look quite lovely, and on many occasions I’ve thrown it in the garbage knowing that it really could be used for something! And yes, indeed, dear readers those little scraps can be quite simply tied together to make a fun raggy bally of yarn that you can use like baker’s twine to wrap around gifts, as strings for garlands or banners, or you can even try crocheting or knitting with it. (I’m gonna try that in a few minutes, so stay tuned!)     Check out my crocheted doll house shag rug, made with this yarn, adorable!

And of course, if your little pile of colorful ends looked great, then so will your ball, I just love this one! And of course you don’t have to do all this work yourself, give the ends to someone who could use a little busy work, during downtime, or even on a car trip, and sooner or later, you too will have a scrappy yarn ball.

And if you are wondering if I am totally off my rocker for saving those tiny ends of yarn, well, then i guess you wouldn’t be very interested in my potato sack kitchen scrubbie either, or maybe I’ll win you over on that one?
