Love projects that combine recycling with using items you might find in your kitchen? Me too, and this Noah's Ark craft project is the perfect project to do with your kids or grandkids this week. I'll bet you never thought that those pint size juice or milk cartons could look this cute, together with a few paper plates!
Work on your Noah's ark project over the span of a few days, first the animals and then the ark, or vice versa, and you'll have a really wonderful example of time well spent! And of course all kids love to say "we made that", so think about setting aside a little extra time and giving them that pleasure.
The photo above pastel colored version is so cute and definitely worthy of a decoration in a baby's room, hung with invisible fish line, or even a cute matching ribbon. So while you're sitting down with your kids, why not make some yourself if you have a baby, or to give as a gift!
With just a little extra effort you can make a stand for the ark, too cute don't you think? And don't forget the little dove perched on top and some small fish swimming in the water. It's the small details like this that make your project extra special.
My daugher was just five years old when she painted the Noah's Ark above, all by herself! I assembled the ark, gave her some paints and she did the rest with absolutely no help from me. I was so proud of her!
Pairs of animals to go with your Ark are fun to make, especially when you cut them from animal patterned paper that you make yourself using stickers and paint. A project unto itself! Here's a selection of papers I made with my kids:

To Make The Ark You'll Need:
- two dinner sized paper plates
- two pint-sized drink cartons
- acrylic craft paint and paint brushes
- double stick tape or glue
- stickers for decorations (optional)
- craft knife
To Make The Animals You'll Need:
- colored card stock
- round colored stickers
- adhesive back metallic paper
- water color and/or gouche paint
- rubber eraser to use as printing tool
- hole punch
- animal silhouettes provided above
