Wondering how to turn an ordinary dessert into something special for Chanukah? Need an idea for a stunning party buffet? These felt cake toppers can turn any cake or even a platter of fruit into something truly special. Take my word for it, my specialty is making my very delicious but simple chocolate cake (recipe here) into something amazing for any occasion! Skewers and height are two of the key factors in pulling this off, and for Chanukah it's all about felt and sequins!
And just imagine, if you make some of the felt decorations I've already posted, like the bunting banners or the rosebud bouquets, then your cake decor can pull together your whole look! I don't think you need instructions for this one, the rose bud instructions are here, just start your bud by gluing it to the skewer, and the other shapes are simply two dreidels back to back with a skewer in the middle. And if you're really smart (like I wasn't when I made and photographed these) don't glue the skewer to the felt, that way you can insert a new skewer each time you'd like to use these.
And if you have no plans to be serving cake or platter fulls of anything, so these cake toppers make fun table decor as is! Oh, and one more thing, look at this tiny rosebud cake topper I made, I never made anything that tiny and cute in my life, but I had all these felt scraps hanging around and a fired up glue gun......
Enjoy, and don't forget how much it means to me to hear from you, really truly, sincerely!
