Saturday night I was badly in need of a crafting fix, after 10 crafting free days on account of the holidays.... I needed something quick and this potholder (from last week's Craft Schooling Sunday) won out hands down. I attacked my box of yarn and came up with these fall colors— some wool my mother had been saving since the 70's and some natural un-dyed wool (with multicolored strands) that I think I may have had for the last 12 years. Yikes, use up that stash!
Honestly, though I enjoyed the rhythmic crocheting, and the simple pattern, I really wasn't crazy about the results. Just not my style really at all......but low and behold, when I paired my ugly ducklings with a kitschy Ukrainian tea set and this Prussion Blue runner.......something happened......my little potholders were suddenly transformed into something beautiful— I think the look is Russian tea party meets rustic country kitchen in the 70's? You can find the pattern posted by Virginia Blue here. Note: I played around with the color changes, only actually following the pattern for the top, right, potholder. Enjoy!
