Why is this container gardening? Well, first of all I don't have a gardening category, and second of all, I really love how my sister in law mixes containers into her simple yet lovely garden. She is by no means a gardener and they do not have a professional gardener. Drought resistant plants, an automatic watering system, and sons that mow the lawn pretty much complete the picture.
Simple landscaping with large stones adds character and design to a large garden. In a large garden, you need large stones, as little ones would just get lost. And yes I would fill those areas with flowers, but for them low maintenance works better, and it's still lovely.
This tall palm is actually in a pot, which allows them to move it when they feel like a little change. And I've always loved these glass balls, which you'll find for sale all over the country, usually together with souvenirs, at roadside stands
We have spent many enjoyable afternoons under the shade of her pecan tree, and there is something magical about this peaceful tree contained garden that quietly beckons. And by the way, if you don't have a garden, but are yearning for one, why not collect photos of gardens and cover a wall or large bulletin board with them— certainly better than nothing and it will help satisfy that little voice whose desires may or not be realistic!
