Ahhhh, there is a lovely sight in my mostly dormant container garden right now — a hedenbergia vine in full bloom! The delicate purple blooms are such a wonderful surprise each winter when most of my other plants are leafless! So if hedenbergia is suited to your climate, don't walk, run to buy at least one this Spring.
The plant is quite simple to maintain. It grows quickly in the Summer and blooms in the winter at a time when flowers are so very special. And when not in bloom, it is actually an attractive vine that can grow on a structure of some kind, or can be used to cover a wall with support wires. And the good news for those of use who garden in containers— it does quite well in pots!
And yes, in case you noticed I've been blessed with a new camera that will enable me to take photos with blurred backgrounds, at last! Still so very much to learn with my first digital SLR, but I'm hoping my dreams will become reality and I will be able to take the photos I've been wishing for, all in order to share with you the wonders of creativity and the amazing world in which we live!
