Yes indeed, if you save those little stickers you often find on fruit, you can use them as fun decoupage elements! These wooden boxes got a little face lift courtesy of the necessity to clean for Passover and thus remove all those little stickers from the back of one of our cabinet doors. And so instead of cleaning and scrubbing, I designed these box tops and then decoupaged them with mod podge. What better time to craft than when you've got an overwhelming list of jobs to do around the house, right? In any case, this little project was really quite quick, and voila, a blog post was born! Enjoy!
You'll Need:
- fruit labels in a variety of colors and shapes
- a base for decoupage, a box, a plate etc.
- mod podge or any decoupage medium, or a thick mixture of white glue and water
How To: Paint your base object a fun color, and set aside to dry. Apply fruit stickers in a pattern, cutting them in half if desired. Play around with the arrangement until it strikes your fancy, and then commit to it by giving it a coat or two of mod podge or any decoupage medium. Bet you never thought that the lowly fruit label could look so good, right?
