Wouldn't you love some fun napkin rings to bring some joy to your holiday table? This Rosh HaShana I thought I'd give you some ideas for some coordinating crafts, all using metallic gold cardboard. The apple bunting, the golden leaf apples and these napkin rings will all look great together and can be crafted by a rang of ages. An adult may need to cut out the shapes, but the little ones can certainly assemble all of these crafts and take pride in bringing some artful touches to the New Year!
You can use beads in colors to suit your decor, and of course you can take this exact same idea in a more elegant direction by using thin ribbon and crystal beads rather than hemp and wooden beads. Personally I love combining the roughness of the hemp with a formal white table, but you decide what makes you happy!
You'll Need:
- gold cardboard, mine is gold on both sides, or laminate some gold paper to cardboard yourself
- hemp
- wooden beads
- plastic flower craft trim
- a hole punch
How To: Cut out your pomegranite (or apple) shapes and punch a hole in each side. With a single strand of hemp string a few items on the hemp, run ends through both holes and tie at the back. For the tie, knot three strands together, place a large bead after the knot and braid. Just before the end, run braided strand up through one hole and down through the other, then add second bead and finish off with a knot. Voila!
And don't forget to set the holiday table early so everyone can enjoy their handiwork on display! Wishing you all a very happy and sweet New Year!
