Now you too can decorate your windows with colored cellophane and make gorgeous stained glass-like art in just minutes, that cleans up in minutes too! Just before Purim I decided that we needed a little bit of color on our windows, and thanks to this great idea that Tali of matzo soup posted here, I had already purchased some colored cellophane, so we were all set!
I cut circles, and squares and triangles from stacks of colored cellophane and then we had fun applying them to the windows with a mixture of about 2 parts dish soap to 1 part water! The results aren't perfect as you do see the drips of the soap, but I'm sure if you wanted to have perfect results you could use a paint brush instead of smearing the solution on the window with your fingers, which is what we did. You simply dip your fingers in the solution, apply some to an area of the window and place the cellophane shapes on the window. So simple even a two year old could do it!
Our windows sure are looking happy now right? And here's a shot of the big picture:
Just too much fun, I have to say, and really so very simple! So get yourself some colored cellophane and have fun livening up your windows for your next party or just because! And if you've started the Passover cleaning and well, quite frankly this isn't up your alley right now, keep it under your hat for Shavuos!
