I'll admit, I'm not usually a big fan of balloons as party decor, but when you need a festive centerpiece in a pinch, or to decorate a guest room for a special guest quickly, well, I think I'm sold on balloon bouquets! And of course my kids were much more excited about filling the vase with balloons than with mommy's usual paper flowers, which in this case would not have done the trick anyway.
And as you can see in our case, the balloons really did complement the colorful sheets and other accessories we added to the room to make it festive and welcoming. So there you have it, even if I had time to make some appropriate paper flowers or something, I do think the balloons were a much better choice.
You'll Need:
- two wooden dowels
- about ten balloons
- curling ribbon or string
How To: Have the kids blow up about ten balloons per bouquet. Tie five balloons together in a bunch, and then attach that bunch to the dowel with the ribbon or string. Make two bunches of five, and then bind the two dowels together such that the arrangement is balanced. Place in a vase (fill the vase with rocks if this is for an outdoor affair!) and voila! So do be sure to always have some balloons on hand to create a quick balloon bouquet at a moment's notice, and you'll be able to bring joy to others with a minimal time investment! I wish it were always that simple!
