It is now officially vacation time for the whole country here in Israel, and while my daughter has two months of vacation my little boys only have three weeks, eight days of which are actually spent at half-day day camp at school! So I am very empathetic when it comes to their desires to fill the days with activities and ice cream!
Yesterday afternoon, as the temperature became bareable outside, we took a walk around the block and then to our local children's petting zoo, complete with some of those kid friendly blown up trampoline structures. Not exactly an action packed afternoon, but the kids were satisfied, especially after the popsicles......phew!
Sometimes I look at photos of exotic Mediterranean destinations and think, wow! But truthfully we live in a very interesting location ourselves, complete with cobblestone streets and a very rich history.
While we actually live in a city that was destroyed by two major earthquakes hundreds of years ago, many old structures have survived and many have been renovated, like this one.
And then there are all kinds of interesting things to look at, like this shell of an old building that was actually renovated and left as is to wonder in and ponder the past!
That's all for now, gotta go get outside once again with the kiddos, but thought you'd enjoy a little glimpe of our life here in the Galil, Northern Israel!
