Last week I shared with you the great news that my craft starved daughter got really into finger knitting. And guess what, I can't believe it myself, but it turns out that my boys ages 7 and 8 actually got into it even more....infact they were downright obsessed! You should have seen the huge grin on my face ....I was ecstatic! (And as you can well imagine my husband could not quite understand what all the excitement was about.......I tried to explain to him that the feeling of craft obsession is the first step into a whole exciting world that could include lanyards and macrame and so many things........)
We had guests for shabbat, and I told them that I had to tare the boys away from the finger knitting so they would take a nap Friday afternoon. So it was very entertaining for us all that, the minute they woke up it was back to the finger knitting! I've told my seven year old that we can do some great projects with his knitting, but he's got to produce a very very long chain. And he's up for it, so stay tuned!
See my previous post about finger knitting here, which includes a link to a simple video that shows you just how to do it. So don't delay teaching your kids or anyone's kids this fun craft. An especially great activity for long car or airplane trips! Enjoy.
