And not only is this a very simple project that's great for beginners, I think the mix of solid and variegated yard makes it look quite a bit more complicated than it really is!
You'll Need:
- Crochet hook size G/5.00-5.50mm
- worsted weight yarn, I used a wool/acrylic blend for the variegated, and solid acrylic for the grey portions
Pattern: I will fill this in later, (very busy with Passover cleaning!) but for the mean time, please refer to my inspiration here, where there's a rough pattern at the bottom of the post, with the following changes:
I crocheted, with the addition of 3 rows of single crochet, (explained below) 27 rows total.
Row 8: Change to variegated yarn and crochet entire row in single crochet.
Rows 13 and 19: Change to solid colored yarn for this row only, and crochet row in single crochet. At center point, sc 3 ch3, sc 3.
Finishing Trim: I crocheted a row of picot stitch around the two sides, but not the neck side. Picot stitch is as follows: sc, ch3, sc in same stitch, sc in next stitch, sc, ch3, sc in same stitch......such that you get little bumps every other stitch.
Enjoy! This would be really nice in cotton yarn as well for a little summery wrap!
