My ten year old daughter made these fun recycled plastic yogurt tub gift baskets all by herself! Of course, I had a large part in the project, namely having the foresight to save these containers, and am so happy that she was receptive to the idea of using them for her Purim mishloach manot for her friends— she made seventeen in all!
Of course, Purim was over a week ago, but thought I'd share this idea with you now rather than waiting an entire year! I thought these would be adorable holding just carmelized or some kind of speciality popcorn, but my daughter preferred a variety of treats, so that's what we did, though I still would love to do some like this for popcorn! Maybe you'll fulfill my little dream?
You'll Need:
- recycled plastic tubs/containers, these were goat yogurt
- contact paper, in our case metallic and wood grain
- cellophane
- ribbon
How To: Because these container are not straight up and down, one cannot cover them by wrapping the circumfirence, which is why I though of the idea of vertical stripes! Simply cut vertical stripes of contact paper and apply up to rim or edge. Fill with cellophane wrapped treats and add some curling ribbon ties. Sweet and simple, right?
