As one of the baked items that my daughter learned to make this summer in a baking class, babka, the classic Jewish yeast cake was one of our favorites! So while I'm not providing you with a recipe here, you can certainly find a good one online or better yet from a babka balabusta, which I am not. Maybe some day I'll figure out how to make spelt babka with some healthy chocolate filling, but until then, babka balabusta I am certainly not.
As you may have noticed, the blog posts have been quite sparse on account of a busy month of summer activities, but I did want to drop by to give you the idea of making babka with a group of kids, such that each one can take home their own little roll. You can make them in mini loaf pans, or free form like the one here. Sounds like a yummy end of the summer activity to me!
