When the ground is covered in snow, and things in your town have not returned to normal after a huge storm, what better idea than to sit in a cozy spot and whip up a crocheted baby hat with ear flaps and a pom pom?
And in the case where in you come upon a pattern that is so quick and a pleasure to crochet, so go ahead, whip out those extra skeins or left overs, and make five of them! With this hat already on the head of my neighbor's 4 month year old, and the second one like this designated for another neighbor's grandson, I have three more in different sizes to give as baby gifts — so much fun!
This hat, which as I mentioned easily fits on the head of a four month old, could fit any baby up to six months old, as it is quite stretchy. I used a 5mm hook, baby weight yarn, and the fabulous pattern that can be found here. You can find more information about my first effort, a newborn-sized hat, here. Enjoy!
