I have a confession to make, are you ready? I introduced my kids to soft boiled eggs so that I could buy egg cups and crochet egg cozies. And it turns out that they actually like soft boiled eggs, now and again, and it's an especially convenient little meal, with a good salad and some hearty bread to serve for breakfast or even as a light supper, Israeli style.
So there you have it, sometimes ulterior motives can actually be a good thing! As far as my egg cup collection and the crocheted egg cozies, well I did pick up some egg cups while in Amsterdam a year and a half ago, (I've only seen them once here in Israel) and last night I at long last tried my hand at crocheting egg cozies, as you can see here. Winter is here and so the winter hat egg cozies that inspired me, from out there in blog land, are perfect right now.
Too cute to not use as a little surprise for my kids, and actually possibly functional since prying one of my sweet book worms away from his book isn't always so easy. At least now his soft boiled egg may stay a bit warmer!
