With all the crocheted mandalas going around, I thought it was high time I had a little fun with some colorful cotton yarn, and while I started this doily as a mandala backed vest for my daughter, she wasn't thrilled enough for me to invest the time into actually making this into a garment, so I happily ripped out a few rows and I now have a doily that fits perfectly on top of the little stacking stool that my daughter uses as a bedside table. I have to say, just looking at it makes me happy!
Generally speaking, I find regular sized doilies to be quite annoying, but a doily that completely covers a little table like this one is a great way to add a little color to any room. Or of course one can also use a fun doily to make a fabulous crocheted doily bowl, or maybe even stiffen it to make some wall art, which is what I'm actually contemplating!
Sorry no pattern at the moment, but I do hope to make one, as well as a diagram, anyone have a program that they use to make crocheted diagrams that would work on Mac? That's all for now, dreaming of making a whole collection of these to hang in my stairwell, or even in the succah! Happy crocheting!
