I'll admit, I actually made these starry night crocheted star garlands as gifts for my kids this past Chanukah, but they happen to look perfect for summer decorations, or maybe even as decorations to make now for the Succah! This is the perfect little project to use up odds and ends of yarn, and of course the stars can be easily crocheted on the go, making this also a great little take-along project!
And I had almost forgotten, these stars are particularly great because each one is made in only two rounds! Which means you can whip up more than you'll know what to do with.......naw, that would never happen, because you can use these stars for just about anything! I even used them to make crocheted star zip tie bookmarks, perfect little party favors for summer too!
The multicolored stars were made by crocheting with two strands of yarn, as I wanted to make stars that were on the large size, meaning one needs to use chunky yarn.....and sometimes the best way to get chunky yarn is to simply use a few strands of what you have on hand, right?
Two garlands like these would look great hung over a child's bed, or just about anywhere that could use a little shot of cuteness, plus, unlike so many crochet projects, these stars certainly work for boys and girls alike, yippee! Happy summer crocheting!
Whoops, almost forgot some important information, like the pattern for the star, which is not mine, but can be found on Moogly. Yes, hers look a bit different, but not to worry it's just a difference in the yarn use.
