Homemade wrapping paper using blank newsprint paper and simple bright green children's paint was the perfect compliment to the ping pong themed birthday party that I made for my 11 year old son just before Rosh HaShana.
And while we are not big on birthday gifts in our home, I thought I'd surprise the birthday boy with 11 numbered gifts, the last one, numbered 11 being a gold trophy of sorts that I came upon at a local discount store, lucky me!
You'll Need:
- newsprint paper or any large sheets of paper
- paint, I used children's guache
- a magic sponge or potato cut into a round circle, or a round sponge on a stick sold at craft stores
- a scalloped circular craft punch
- colored card stock
- a black marker
How To: I don't think you need an explanation for this one, but here goes. Squirt some paint onto a recycled plastic lid or plastic plate and lightly coat the object you'll be using to stamp your polka dots. To much paint will result in circles that bleed. Make as much wrapping paper as you can, you can always use it in the future, and the polka dots can also be turned into cute faces or animals or filled in with letters or numbers at a later date.
Wrap your presents and attach a number to each one. Enjoy the party!
