Here is a fun crepe paper flower craft that is done in two steps, and produces great results. Make these flowers in a bunch of sizes, and affix them to a large board, or hot glue a string to the back for hanging. Or how about some on your front door? Whatever you decide to do with them, they'll add a splash of color to your home, and make your kids very proud of their efforts, which is certainly a good way to encourage future crafting, right?
Kids love making pom poms so set aside a crating session to do that first, either with a pom pom maker or a piece of cardboard, and make as many pom poms as you can, you can always use them to make a garland or to hang from your chandelier. Multi colored pom poms look fabulous and are even more fun to make than solid colored pom poms!
You'll Need:
- crepe paper
- yarn
- high tack craft glue, or white glue
- cardboard
How To:
Cut a circle of cardboard to use as you base. Cut large petals from crepe paper and affix those in a circle to the cardboard. Make layers of progressively smaller petals and glue those on top of the previous layer. At the end, fill the center with a pom pom, and a gorgeous flower has bloomed! These flowers can be made in many sizes, and I love the quirkyness of them when they are made by kids and thus not perfect! Enjoy!
