My darling 13 year old daughter, who very fortunately takes after mom just a bit in the crafting department, whipped up these sweet little decorations as a surprise for my birthday last week, and I have to say, sometimes when the apple doesn't fall so far from the tree it can truly be a pleasure!
The little scalloped circle cupcake decorations were actually placed into chocolate rice crispy treats together with the larger flag, and when the treats were demolished and the flowers looked a little droopy, I added the flag to the bouquet to prolong the enjoyment of this little celebration.
My daughter told me that she actually wanted to make washi tape flags as well, but on account of all the disorder (ahem) in my studio she couldn't find the washi tape, and she had to work quickly in order to make this a surprise, sweet right?
