Ta da, she actually used something that I have tried crocheting with but never got around to actually making something, polypropelene craft cord! Craft cord actually comes in a bunch of colors and thicknesses, (this is the thinner version I believe) so there are lots of options, and this cord is stretchy, so the actual crocheting shouldn't be nearly as difficult as with cotton cord or rope. And you can use the leftover to make some small macrame projects to boot!
