I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and if you are like me you just might be having a hard time getting back that creative energy that we all love to infuse into our everyday? Pre-chanukah I did a lot of crocheting that I just can't seem to find the time to photograph so I'm going to get things rolling here in 2017 with some fun winter crafts that are also perfect for the next Jewish holiday, Tu B'Shevat, the New Year for the trees!
Crafting with oranges can only produce great things, whether it be wonderful smells as in the case of orange clove pomanders, orange tea lights or dried orange slices that can be used in so many wonderful ways. So enjoy this round up and stay tuned for lots of fruit and tree related crafts, ah and yes, some fruit carving too hopefully!
This orange and cloves pomander craft is truly one of my all time favorites, the results are gorgeous and the smells are fabulous. So get your self some of the basic supplies, take a look at my pomander tutorial and enjoy, This one is great for all ages too.
Dried orange slice pendants are a perfect craft for the Jewish holiday of Tu B'Shevat! One can make the dried slices ahead of time and then give kids all the supplies to make pendants. Be sure to make lots of dried oranges to use as garlands too!
Orange rind tea lights are the perfect way to enjoy eating an orange and then use the rind. Candlelight in the winter is especially a wonderful way to bring a feeling of light into your home. Of course one can also make candied orange peels, which I have done in the past, but certainly one would only want to do that with organic oranges I would think.
Enjoy!
