If you are making cupcakes, why not make some DIY cupcake sleeves to honor your special occasion or that special someone? Cupcake sleeves basically cover the cupcake paper and make them look really fantastic, even if your icing isn't all that great. And best of all you can customize your cupcake sleeves to your occasion, which I did here for my son's bar mitzvah. Or once you get the hang of making cupcake sleeves, you can always make some using that great paper you happen to have on hand, sky is the limit!
Okay, let's get started!
You'll Need:
- DIY cupcake topper stickers, tuturial here
- white card stock, larger than letter or A4 recommended, I used a drawing paper pad
- a computer screen or store bought cupcake sleeve
- double stick tape
How To:
- Make DIY cupcake sleeves by tracing a pattern off your computer screen or adapting a pattern from a sleeve you have on hand. There are so many sizes of cupcakes, so you'll want to make sleeves that are truly the right dimensions. (Meaning you'll have to do this after the cupcakes are baked, as height is of the essence.) Make a pattern to use as a master, and then trace around that onto desired card stock and cut out.
- Print cupcake topper stickers, and affix a sticker to your cupcake sleeve. When you print white stickers to affix to white paper the imperfectly cut circle will be barely noticable if at all.
- Assemble cupcake sleeves using double stick tape and enjoy! Be sure to keep that pattern you made for future use!
