Purim is just around the corner, and fortunately for me, the decorations I made for our women's Purim party on Monday night will now fill the wall in my house! And since I have been neglecting the crafting I used to do and share here (because of the art, which you can see on my instagram @sara.rivka.dahan) I am happy to at least have a few good projects to share with you, just in time so that you can make some too! Creativity and inventiveness are generally a big part of all the things I create, and this year I made paper clouds, for the first time ever, and friends, they are so simple and with such great results!
Paper clouds can be used in so many ways, and are especially great when placed at the bottom, such that anything you put above them is floating on the clouds, a great uplifting look. Of course, my decorations were not just clouds and stars, and I'll share the rest shortly, but for now, lets concentrate on DIY paper clouds! Ready?
- the largest sheets of medium weight or card stock weight paper you can find, in white and lavender
- glue, I used some sort of clear toxic stuff because i could not find my glue gun
- a pencil and a dinner plate and a small bowl or large glass, I used just two sizes, you could use more
How To:
- I divided my large rectangular sheets into 3 horizontal strips
- Using the plate and the bowl (upside down) I traced portions of circles to get the feeling of clouds, making sure to have some higher and some lower and a variety of sizes
- Make sure to separate the panels of white clouds with a panel of lavender clouds, this is the most important part of this project!
- Adhere each row of clouds on top of the next, and if there are some holes where the bottom piece isn't quite tall enough, just patch it with a scrap, I'm all about not wasting paper!
- If you will be making clouds to cover a very long area, make sure that they match up at the ends, I didn't do this, as I didn't actually plan ahead, but you should!
- Hope this helps you decorate some walls for your school, your home, or just about anywhere!
