The festive holiday of Shavuot starts Saturday night, so now is the time to get busy filling our homes with greenery and flowers, and I say go for paper! Whether you have time for a whole set or even just one sweet flower, give it a try, I'm sure you will love it. This post just shows how to create the flowers, in my other post, coming shortly, I'll share with you one idea how to use them. Okay time is of the essence, lets get started! And of course, you can choose to do any flower, though keep in mind that Gerbera really works because it has a long stem without leaves in nature.
- watercolor (medium to heavy weight) paper, the bigger the better for long flowers,
- watercolor or gouche paint, I actually used acryla gouche
- pencil and eraser
How To:
- Draw your flowers, and maybe practice first, and google 'how to draw" any flower and you may just find step by step instructions
- Lighten your pencil lines with the eraser (I did not do this, but I should have!)
- Now the fun part, paint your flowers, and make sure to use several shades of each color on the petals.
- Set aside to dry, and cut them out, so much fun!
As you can see I draw an oval as a guide for the petals.
Paint those flower, so much fun!Cut them out and wow, they come to life!
Now think about how you can use these flowers, there are so many ways!
