I just dusted this off after pulling it from the archives, enjoy!
Yom Kippur starts on Tuesday night, so now is the time to honor the holiday with some simple recycling crafts! It is true, that if you are building a succah, crafting time might be more well spent on making succah decorations, but if you are among those that travel to family for Succot, then why not make some Yom Kippur crafts? And, two out of the four crafts I've presented here can also be used in the Succah, so with time of the essence, lets get crafting!
Recycled cardboard roosters are so much fun and would make great wall decorations in a child's room after being displayed for Yom Kippur. Hang them on the wall, or make stands for them, either way, these guys are just as cute as can be!
Recycled calendar starburst is an old favorite of mine, make it today and enjoy in the succah!
Recycled magazine page feathers are perfect for Yom Kippur, that day that we aspire to be like angels, and also work with the Succot idea of being under the wings of the Shechina.....so go for it!
Cut paper roosters isn't technically a recycling craft, but a great way to use up little scraps of paper, and would be great if old calendar pages, envelopes and magazine pages were added into the mix.
That is it for my recycling crafts for Yom Kippur, though I have to admit, I just tore up this past year's calendar, and am going to whip up a few quick crafts, so stay tuned!
