Foggy August Days On The Coast In Pacifica, California

This past August we had the great pleasure of revisiting a new favorite location in Northern California, the town of Pacifica! Very close to the airport, stunning views and trails, and foggy/chilly weather to escape the summer heat elsewhere makes it an amazing destination. That aside, Pacifica is not a fancy beach town, rather a low key place that even includes a mobile home park and a trailer park just above it, right on the water. It is true, the city has been plagued by crumbling cliffs, and you'll find lots of rocks propping up the cliffs, nonetheless, there isn't any immediate danger unless posted, and again, it is truly a gem. We have visited without a car, and there are major grocery stores within walking distance, to most locations. Okay, lets take a look at our dreamy vacation rental location, where we literally sat and looked at the view for 9 days, which was a good thing since I broke my wrist in the airport on the way there, and so it goes!

Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks for stopping by! Pouring rain here in Northern Israel means lots of time indoors and maybe more time for some serious crafting? A neighbor's daughter just got engaged and funny enough asked me to crochet her a teddy bear, yikes! (Of course there is a story behind the request, it didn't just come up randomly.......though the request was quite a surprise.) So off to look at some patterns and to decide how much to really put into this. There is a great pattern from a Craft schooling Sunday contributor, a bear with no arms or legs that is just adorable, though not sure I can quite get away with that, will have to think on that one! In the mean time, enjoy the features from last week's party and wishing everyone a healthy winter!

Super Simple DIY Paper Birthday Cake Toppers

Fun birthday cake toppers can truly be whipped up very quickly, assuming you have the basic supplies on hand! And truly folks, my DIY paper cake toppers may not have that perfect look, but they are made from the heart and personalized, which is really the very best idea of all. I've been making similar paper cake toppers for years and while I did upgrade the look with some colored toothpicks i picked up in the USA, the basic supplies are still the same. And yes, I am saving those little flags and maybe even everything, as i have a box for such things and you never know when you might need to whip out some decorations for a guest who happens to have a birthday!

Quick Crocheted Kid's Gift: An Adorable Tiny Cat Bed

As it turns out, when my son got married I gained a new adorable 4 year old in my life, who is the brother of the bride, and just as cute as can be. He loves all things white, and even requested a white cat, which I happened to have, but of course I just had to crochet another little pet bed for this cat, and the gift made him so very very happy. Apparently he keeps the little cat in its bed, next to his bed, and as of last night when I saw him (the child, not the cat) we finalized a name for the cat, which is Tuli, because she is a chatula, cat, in Hebrew. So dear friends, a combo gift like this one can bring so much joy and is truly so very simple to make, whether you go very small like this one, or bigger to accomodate a larger stuffed animal. Now i just have to figure out what else I can make for this tiny cat.......hmmmm, maybe an amigurumi tiny cat to keep him company? Keep on reading for a link to the basic instructions!
