Plastic bags are one of the worlds worst inventions truly, so lets try to use them for crafting rather than throwing them away, or allowing them to blow away somewhere and get into our oceans and waterways, yikes. For those of you who live in areas where plastic bags have been outlawed, there are still plastic garbage bags of course and the occasional plastic bag here and there that should certainly be recycled through crafting. I have made many crafts with plastic bags over the years, and you can check those out in my blog category called Recycling Crafts: Plastic Bags.
One of the ways that I get rid of piles of plastic bags is by making yarn, or rather "plarn" from them, and then I can always save those balls for a future project! Recently I made a bunch of pom poms for Purim using the plastic bag yarn you see here, and the results are so much fun! I'll share them with you shortly, or take a look at those that I've previously made in the link above. In the mean time, collect plastic bags in a bunch of colors and start making yarn from them, using plastic bag yarn diagrams, and get the whole family involved!
