Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! With the month of June already under our belts now is the time to get serious about those summer crafting projects! June Blooms In My Northern Israel Container Garden

A few weeks ago I photographed some of the flowers in bloom in my Northern Israel container garden, which is filled mostly with drought resistant perennials, and other trees and bushes that can withstand both hot summers and coldish winters that sometimes approach freezing. Right now some of the plants, like my huge rose standards are suffering from the heat, and even the bougainvillia is taking its time to re-bloom, but the non-flowering plants like Yucca and a large collection of foxtail ferns and asparagus ferns are just fine, and so it goes! It is hot for me too, so I can imagine the plants feel it as well! Okay, lets take a look at some of my flowering plants, pots that I've had for years and years actually, so highly recommended!

Tiny Mezonot Hamburger Buns To Make Adorable and Tasty Appetizers

Never mind the specifics of the stock photo I've used here, this article is about making tiny buns that are not colored, though was that done with beet juice and tumeric, hmmm, interesting! I wanted to share with you a recipe that a neighbor gave to me to bake tiny mezonot hamburger buns that are perfect for appetizers when you need something just a bit next level! (If you don't know what "mezonot" is, don't worry about it, or look it up if you like, but basically regular bread is not mezonot, while these are not technically "bread." I made the recipe for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, for our morning dairy kiddush/meal as I wanted to change up the usual of too many sweet things and start serving more actual food instead. I had planned on making these tiny buns and filling them with a slice of sweet potato, slice of fried eggplant, pesto and soft white cheese, (divine) but I ran out of time and simply included them on our cheese board already sliced, and they were truly a hit!

Years ago I got into floral doodles via some tutorials for bullet journal art and it was so much fun, and a great introduction to the world of journaling and sketchbook practices. When Life Gives You Lemons Fun Birthday Cake

I've been painting lots of faceted watercolor fruit lately, like watercolor mosaic strawberries, for example, so when it came time to make some birthday decor and a birthday cake for my son, it seemed like a no-brainer to continue with the fruit theme, and lemons came to mind! A glass of lemonade and a pitcher might be an unusual theme for a birthday cake, but around here anything goes, and honestly I love the results, of the decor that is, the cake doesn't look great at all in these photos taken quickly before shabbat! Not to worry, my classic always loved chocolate cake recipe with a glaze and sprinkles on top does the job just fine, and the time spent on the cake decorations is time well spent, as you can save them or use them in another way. Fun Lemon And Lemonade Theme Cake And Cupcake Toppers

When you've spent years and years and years making simple birthday cakes topped with homemade decorations, anything is game really, and so no one batted an eye as to why I'd choose a lemonade theme for these cake toppers, and even the guests didn't ask any questions. (Ah yes, now I remember, I told them I had no idea what the connection is other than that we love lemons.)
