Watercolor cut-outs, know in some art journaling circles as "fodder" are just so much fun, whether created intentionally, or in this case the result of some watercolor art journal pages that didn't quite pass the finish line! In the past I've created watercolor cut-out poppies and other flowers and leaves, and now with the inclusion of some geometrics things are taking on a different look altogether. Truthfully I've already used some of these cut-outs to make collaged watercolor gift tags, which I made use as gift tags or hang as holiday decor for the upcoming Jewish holiday of Shavuos.
So friends, grab some watercolor paper, even the lowest quality you can find (which means it will be lighter weight and better for collage) and have fun painting geometric shapes and botanicals, with no plan except to enjoy color! Once you have cut out the shapes, then think about how you might use them, even as a very sweet garland?
Watercolor cut-outs can be used in so many ways and it is wonderful to have envelope or flat box full of them to create with, so get painting!
