Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks for joining me here! With temps dropping to freezing here in Northern Israel I have taken in most of the succulents from my container garden, with a few huge aloe vera pots that might get dragged in as well, they are right next to the front door, so why not give them a bit of warmth? And then there are the spider plants that have been looking so lovely, but won't love freezing temps, and those need to be dug up, or at the least covered, and so it goes! The features from last week's party are full of amazing ideas to get your creativity gears turning, so enjoy!

Origami Clowns Craft To Make In Many Sizes

These origami clowns are just too much fun, and since they are quite simple to fold, why not make a bunch in many sizes to decorate for Purim? Garlands, cake toppers, vase inserts and even front door decor are perfect ideas for how to use this clown, or how about glued to card stock as a gift tag? I'd say make a bunch, and then figure out how to use them! I have made giant origami clowns using wrapping paper in the past and using the entire width of the wrapping paper to produce a very large clown, which is quite fantastic actually. This year I'm crafting these with some of my students and we are making smaller versions to stick into a Purim vase centerpiece. Okay, lets do it!

Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! The almond and other fruit trees are blooming here in Northern Israel, while we are expecting freezing temperatures and maybe even a dusting of snow at the end of the week, hopefully! Purim is coming so it is time to get crafting with decorations, costumes and all things food gift baskets, and I will surely be crafting up a storm with my 4th, 5th and 6th grade boys crafting students, because after that comes Passover cleaning and the classes will have to go on hiatus for a month or so, as once again my studio is calling for a major clean up, not to mention of course the entire house, which I love! Okay, lets take a look at the features from last week's party!

A Bowl Of Origami Pears For Tu B'Shevat!

Tonight is the festive holiday of Tu B'Shevat, the New Year for Fruit Bearing Trees, and there is still a tiny bit of time to make a fun centerpiece, especially something quick ilke this bowl of origami pears! While this year I've gone crazy making origami fruit of all kinds in great numbers and with my groups of crafting students, but there is just something so wonderful about filling a bowl or plate with just pears, as they sit so nicely with one another! And friends, even if you don't have a footed bowl, cake plate or the like, you can make one in 2 seconds by simply placing a plate on top of an upside down bowl, got it! So time is of the essence, lets make this fun paper pears centerpiece, and wishing you a joyful Tu B'Shevat!

Simple Origami Pears Craft For Tu B'Shevat

The festive Jewish holiday of Tu B'Shevat, The Jewish New Year for Fruit Bearing Trees, is coming up on Wednesday night, so now is THE time to get crafting! And while you might like to fill up your table with a vast array of wonderful fruits and nuts to honor the holiday, why not make some paper fruit that will add a festive touch, are quite quick to make and won't go bad in the fridge! Plus this one is something that kids as young as 7 or 8 years old can do, and when done in an array of colors, well you can have a whole array of paper fruit as well. The difference between this pear origami craft and the origami apples I've been making even in huge sizes is simply a fold on an angle versus a straight fold, so if you know how to make an origami balloon, this pear is just a slight tweak, so let's get to it!

Welcome to Craft Schooling Sunday, thanks so much for joining me here! Winter is in full swing here in Northern Israel with temperatures dropping to freezing, but alas no snow. The blooming almond trees are dotting the hills, so it is time to get outdoors to photograph them, hopefully! In the mean time we are getting ready for the Jewish New Year for the trees, Tu B'Shevat, coming on Wednesday night. Since we have a wedding out of town I'm off the hook for putting together a Tu B'Shevat seder this year, but I've more than honored the holiday with all the craft projects made by my now 25 crafting students who are 4th, 5th and 6th grade boys! Okay, lets take a look at the features from last week's party!

Origami Cherries And Strawberries For Tu B'Shevat!

This craft is just so adorable and so very simple! I've been making these cherries with my crafting students and even children as young as 7 or 8 can easily fold the origami balloon that is needed. And while we've used the idea to make cherries here, you can make just about any fruit using this idea, just change the color of the paper! And if you want to make something that is a bit more pear shaped, to use in one direction as a pear, and another direction as an apple, check out my tutorial coming soon. In the meantime, make square origami fruit and fill up a basket!
