Introducing a cuter than cute craft that can be easily made in multiples and in any size you like, with out a huge time investment. My crafting students made a bunch of cupcake liner flowers for a Shavuot project and those that had between three to five left over were able to make a bouquet of flowers to bring home as well as the main project. They added a sweet note to Mom to thank her for everything, and one boy thanked her for letting him come to the crafting class, awhhhhh. These came out so well that I'm going to hopefully whip up a few myself for two neighbors who will greatly appreciate it, and one for myself maybe to put on the front door for Shavuos, yes! Okay, lets do it!
You'll Need:
- cupcake liner flowers tutorial
- wooden skewers or floral wire (or just glue flowers into paper cone as if they have stems, could work!)
- a piece of A4 colored paper, or whatever you have on hand, though for a smallish bouquet the bright color really makes it so happy
- hot glue or high tack craft glue
- Make flowers according to tutorial, but DO NOT fold up inner most layer, leave it unfolded as shown here, especially if it is bright orange and polka dots! (I didn't plan this as truly my student assembled the flowers himself with just a suggestion of "use a skewer" from me as I was busy with other students.)
- Add skewers, affix with hot glue, my students stuck the sharp point all the way through the flower which you might or might not want to do. Skewer tip can be covered with a strip of paper fringe to look like stamens.
- Make a cone from colored paper, not a proper cone, though one student did that and I didn't correct it) but rather a cone with a triangular back that rises above flowers. Just play around with the paper and affix with hot glue and then make the two sides symmetrical. Or use a square and you won't have this problem.
- Place flowers into cone and affix with hot glue on stems and petals or at points where flowers touch the paper.
- Add a note, and gift it!
