In 2025, the market for family cars is crowded. There are plenty of contenders, with many families and individuals choosing carefully from among them. What vehicles should you know about that are proven winners with American drivers?
We’ve compiled a list of options that should be on your radar if you’re car shopping for your family. You can visit Axio Auto, Sandy residents, if you live nearby and one of the models we have selected appeals to you.

The 2025 Honda Accord
If you’re familiar with the Honda brand, then it should not surprise you that this one made the list. The Honda Accord isn’t exactly flashy, but it’s reliable, has great resale value, and also gives you better-than-average fuel economy.
The turbocharged 1.5 L four-cylinder engine isn’t incredibly powerful, but that presumably won’t bother you in a mid-sized family vehicle. You get 192 horsepower, which is standard for a vehicle of this size and at this price point. The 247 lb per foot of torque is fine, but it’s the 37 miles per gallon on the highway that buyers seem to love the most.

The 2025 Kia Soul
The Kia brand is another popular one because of the consistently low price point of many of the models and the dependability of the company’s whole vehicle line. The Soul can be considered either a small wagon or subcompact car.
It gets 147 horsepower and comes with a 2.0 L four-cylinder engine. Shoppers also seem to like its front-wheel drive and continuously variable automatic transmission.

The 2025 Toyota Camry
The Toyota brand is another one that is particularly well regarded by families and individuals not looking to spend a ton for a midsize car. The Camry has been around for decades, and both the resale value and dependability make it a proven winner.
This four-door sedan has plenty of room for up to five full-sized adults. The adequate trunk space makes this an ideal choice for grocery shopping or loading up with sporting goods for your kids. This would also make the perfect hand-me-down if you have a youngster who’s graduating from high school and needs a vehicle in a few years.

The 2025 Dodge Charger
One wouldn’t normally associate something as sleek-looking as the Charger with family living, but this is a surprisingly great choice if you can afford it. You can get it with two doors or four. The four-door version is roomy and comfortable as well as powerful.
The 670 horsepower is the star, but the 627 pounds per foot of torque isn’t too shabby, either. Plus, think of the looks you’ll get when dropping your kids off at school.
The 2025 Honda Civic
Another Honda model made the list as well, this one the new Civic. You can get it as a sedan, but if you want to have more room in the back for Costco runs and the like, you may want to explore the hatchback option.
Any of these should do nicely as family vehicles, wishing you great success and safe driving!
