Esplanade Beach In Pacifica California

This August on my third summer visit to Pacifica, California (check out that link for all my previous posts about Pacifica) I at long last had the chance to visit Esplanade Beach, and with the sun shining (somewhat rare during our week-long stay) it was truly a treat. Because Pacifica is mostly blanketed by fog a visit to the beach isn’t about sun bathing or swimming, but rather enjoining the sand and the surf and the stunning coastline. Esplanade Beach is located at the Northern end of Pacifica, and not far from a Safeway market where we walked to do our grocery shopping. And just North of the descent to Esplanade beach is a lovely paved path along the cliff, which is a must! For a stunning beach just a 15 minute drive or so from San Francisco, finding it almost always nearly empty is like a secret you don’t want to share. Or maybe you have a layover at SFO? Put your luggage in the storage service, and hop on over, so very close! Enjoy,I’m back home and missing it!

Just a few families on one huge empty beach, love it!
