After running to the craft store in Jerusalem to buy yarn and then figuring out how to use it (not recommended, by the way!) the first item I crocheted was this wonderful top-down construction bobble baby cardigan with no seams, yippee! This is a great beginner friendly pattern, though I do recommend getting your tension and technique down pat before crocheting clothing, for the best results. And then, when you are ready to crochet a baby sweater, this is a perfect pattern to try, as with double crochet stitches it is somewhat forgiving, and no seams means discrepancies in your tension might not be detectable? Plus the bobble, which is a truly simple stitch brings this sweater to the next level! I love how the sweater looks with cuffed sleaves, but keep reading to see it with sleaves unfolded. Simple Crocheted Sea Shell Baby Bonnet To Whip Up For The New Baby!

With a new baby in the family I have been crocheted up a storm, well actually the storm has passed as it is now time to get on with other pressing projects, but right after Succot, I took an entire week plus to just relax and crochet! It was truly wonderful, and I'll be sharing all the projects with you, as well as the amazing free patterns that I used for all the items. This sea shell baby bonnet is so great looking, and so simple to whip up, I think I need to have a bunch on hand honestly! Truly, you can whip this up in the car in an hour, so get some yarn print out the pattern and tuck it in your purse! (good advice to self as well....} I made this from some cotton/acrylic blend yarn that maybe isn't the best choice for a newborn, but so it goes, one can't always pick a project, buy the yarn and then crochet, which is the best way to go. In my case I bought the yarn and then looked for projects, which I will not do next time if I can help it, as then the sizes don't quite match up. Meaning the guage is off is your yarn is thicker than that recommended for the project. Keep on reading for the pattern info.....

Yippee, now that I've returned to crocheting with a new baby in the family, I also found a great crocheted bootie pattern that is a keeper! Believe me, I have crocheted too many wonky booties in the past, and am now so happy to have found a pattern that actually enabled me to crocheted one pair of great looking booties, with a few customizations of course! So friends, I do recommend trying to crochet booties before you actually need some as a new baby gift, as they are so much fun, but sometimes don't exactly work out according to the pattern. Quick Crocheted Newborn Booties To Crochet In The Car?

With a newborn baby boy joining our family just three weeks ago, I spent a good week taking a nice vacation near the young couple and their new baby, and quite simple spent hours and hours crocheting as well as looking for new patterns. Now that i'm back home I took a look in my own archives and realized I actually have some patterns that I ought to share once again, until I get around to sharing the new items I've crocheted, that is!

And once you've got the pattern down, you can surely crochet these in the car on the way to visit the newborn, or in my case, on the way to the brit! Well not these exact booties, but I have been know to crochet an entire sweater in the car, mind you I had a few hours. Crocheted booties are a fun little gift, a great way to add a homemade touch to a large gift, and something one can make to use up little odds and ends of yarn as they take very little! After I took these photos I did add a crocheted tie, which I threaded through the ankle, very useful so the booties will stay on baby's foot, and not get lost. Happy crocheting and mazel tov!

I have been living with these fun crocheted pears for a year and a half or so, and I can surely report they are just so very charming! And wouldn't a crocheted pear from t-shirt yarn be a great baby gift, it would look soooo cute in a baby's room, or just about anywhere. I have been wanting to crochet a pear for ages, partly to go with my daughter's pirum parum poster, and partly because who can resist a crocheted pear?
