Quick Crocheted Kid's Gift: An Adorable Tiny Cat Bed

As it turns out, when my son got married I gained a new adorable 4 year old in my life, who is the brother of the bride, and just as cute as can be. He loves all things white, and even requested a white cat, which I happened to have, but of course I just had to crochet another little pet bed for this cat, and the gift made him so very very happy. Apparently he keeps the little cat in its bed, next to his bed, and as of last night when I saw him (the child, not the cat) we finalized a name for the cat, which is Tuli, because she is a chatula, cat, in Hebrew. So dear friends, a combo gift like this one can bring so much joy and is truly so very simple to make, whether you go very small like this one, or bigger to accomodate a larger stuffed animal. I'll admit, I have not been doing many crochet projects lately, (and I miss it!) but recently I just had to whip up some mini crocheted dog beds from t-shirt yarn to give as a gift together with two tiny puppies, and I have to say, the results were truly adorable. I'm sorry to say that I don't have time right now to write out a pattern, so I'll give you the link to the tutorial for the full sized dog bed that inspired this one. That said it really is so very simply, so you can do it! It is just a circular base with 3 rows crocheted like the sides of a basket, with rows 2 and three crocheted as rows not in the round in order to leave the space in the front of the dog bed. How To Crochet Booties For An 18" Doll

Crocheting booties for a newborn baby is a quick gift, that I have been know to whip up in the car on the way to visit the new mom, so crocheting booties for an 18" doll? Piece of cake, just figuring out bootie patterns takes a bit of patience and willingness to just wing it. And yes, sorry, that goes for the pattern I'm providing you with, as well, I am not a professional crochet pattern writer. Not to scare you, just try to follow the directions and I'm sure it will be just fine. And if you use variegated yarn as I have, you really don't see the stitches anyway. Crocheted Doll Bassinet With Changing Pad

The best present you can crochet for a little three year old who loves baby dolls is this moses basket or baby bassinet crocheted using t-shirt yarn. Fun to crochet and the results are just too adorable. I followed an existing pattern more or less, and felt like adding a little mattress/changing pad, which give the bassinet that little extra something. Of course that is only if like me you tend to get obsessed with the crocheting, the bassinet alone is fantastic too! Crocheted Doll Bassinet Using T-Shirt Yarn

I needed an adorable handmade gift for a sweet three year old girl who loves her "babies" and this crocheted doll bassinet using t-shirt yarn seemed simple enough, and with great results, so why not give it a try? And, great news, the gift was received with much excitement, and the little three year old told me "I told you to give me this" meaning "this is exactly what I wanted, though I didn't know I wanted it." Soooooo, fellow crocheters, give this project a try, it is really quite simple, and you too can delight a little baby doll lover in your life. And of course while you are at it, don't forget to make a simple no-sew fleece doll blanket to complete the gift! Ah yes, and just by the way, this was crocheted with t-shirt yarn and a relatively smal hook (6.5mm) but you could also crochet this pattern using cotton rope, which would be great as well. I love that the t-shirt  yarn bassinet is machine washable, which will likely be necessary after carrying around all those baby dolls! Okay, lets get crocheting.....
