Quick Crocheted Stars Using T-Shirt Yarn

Hanukkah is coming in just a week or so, and now is the time for some quick crocheting to use as gifts or decorations! Lucky for you I have given this two-row star a run for its' money using t-shirt yarn, and the results are great, so now I'm sharing them with you! T-shirt yarn is a delight to crochet with, but not every pattern works due to the bulkiness and stretch of the yarn, so always a good idea to make a sample before going to town. I'm not sure exactly how I'll use these stars, but at the very least as a crocheted bunting, and if there's more time as part of a a Hanukkah wall hanging. Ah yes, and depending on the thickness of your t-shirt yarn, some stars might even be big enough to use as coasters, or sew a few together to make a table protector or mat of some kind.

Crocheted Potato Sack Scrubby With T-Shirt Yarn

I love using those mesh potato sacks to make kitchen and bath scrubbies, and since I have some very thin t-shirt yarn on hand, I decided to give it a try. I usually use mercerized cotton for this project, but I love the chunkier edge that one gets with t-shirt yarn. And just saying, one could use homemade t-shirt yarn, or commercial t-shirt yarn, whichever you have on hand!  These photos are so pink as I ran to take them at sunset, and can't quite figure out how to correct for that and need to post somethiing, so in the mean time, enjoy the pink glow! Quick Crocheted Arches Bathmat Using T-Shirt Yarn

Ready to crochet the cutest little bathmat you ever did see in just a few hours? This quick t-shirt yarn crocheted bathmat is such a fun project that you'll want to make a bunch to always have a clean one one hand. Simply toss it into the laundry when soiled and you'll always have a sweet crocheted touch in your bathroom.Or if you decide to go with colors that one wouldn't describe as "sweet" but rather rustic, or even bold and modern, that could be great too! Try some of those daring color combos like millenial pink and dark green or any variety of rusts and mustards that you might not want to experiment with elsewhere, and enjoy! This stitch pattern certainly lends itself to an interesting color application of any kind, and with t-shirt yarn it works up quickly, so if you don't like it, just rip it out. Crochet Arcade Stitch Pattern

The Jewish holiday season is over and the first thing I just had to do (after 8 days of holidays and no crafting) was pick up some colorful t-shirt yarn and make something! Truthfully I needed to crochet a swatch to photograph for application on a product, and this arcade stitch just seemed so very perfect! The edges of the piece were photo-shopped a bit, meaning I took out the bulge of the turning chain, so do keep that in mind, otherwise, you can expect gorgeous results like this, especially if you choose to crochet in bulky yarn, or t-shirt yarn, which is just too fun for words.

Arcade stitch is perfect for crocheted trim, pillow covers, blankets, rugs, table runners, scarves, and of course garments so give this stitch a try! I was just thinking that a chunky baby blanket in pastel colors using the arcade stitch would be just dreamy and so simple to whip up!

Crocheted T-Shirt Yarn Flower Medallion Stool Cover

One of my very favorite things to crochet is a stool cover, and here are my two new favorites.........in bright colors to match my all new Moroccan turquoise couches, really! And the fun thing about these crocheted stool covers is that they are crocheted using industrial t-shirt yarn, so each one only takes around 2 hours or even less, especially once you get the hang of it. So if you don't own any round stools, run to get some, because, take my word for it, this crochet project is a must!

Fleece Scraps Pouch For Kids Is Perfect For Holding Magnifying Glasses!

Last week just before my favorite little four year old was to arrive for a visit, I quickly whipped up a pouch to hold the magnifying glass I had promised him on his last visit. And of course since I love giving the kind of gifts that are truly exciting and will be used, I made a pouch with a strap so that it could be worn across the body, and added straps to the magnifying glasses so they could be worn around the neck, for convenience and because the largest magnifying glass is actually glass, and keeping it safely around the neck does seem like the best way to keep it intact!

The good news? The gift was so well received that it was worn constantly for a few days, yippee!  Ah yes, and for those of you who have been following me since Chanukah 2015, well, yes I actually made this pouch back then, and called it quick and cute fleece gift pouch.

And I will say, I was so thankful to come across this lone pouch that was for some reason hanging around with no tie, as I was able to refashion it for this project with minimal time committment, which was the only way to go just before receiving house guests! A Quick Crocheted Spring Basket

Spring is here which means it is time to get started with the Spring/Pesach organizing and cleaning......but first of course as I was recovering from a very festive Purim I spied a cute little basket with holes in it, that could be much more useful if one could not see what is inside, for me the hoarder that is! So I present to you a quick crocheted spring basket using an existing plastic basket with holes, an idea that can be used on many types of plastic baskets!

And yes, to make this project "quick" one does need the proper supplies, namely yarn and hook sizes that are large, so keep on reading for those oh so important tips, since right about now time is of the essence.......well at least on my end!

Crocheted Star Trivet Using T-Shirt Yarn Makes A Quick Unique Gift!

It is pouring rain outside and I have the luxury of spending a few days to do some crafting for Chanukah, and the first thing that came to mind was to try and use up all the t-shirt yarn that I have (so that I can justify buying more, of course!) and that is how these crochted star trivets were born, and I just love them! This is a quick gift to whip up in multiples for holiday giving and would be perfect together with an assortment of teas, or even better a nice teapot. Of course you could also make a large garland or wall hanging, or sew a bunch together to make a table runner, or even a rug (which is what I'm dreaming of, only I don't have enough yarn, sigh.) Once you make one, I can almost guarantee that you'll want to make a bunch more!

Crocheted Vase Using T-Shirt Yarn

A quick crocheted vase using some scraps of t-shirt yarn (to make it super quick!) and either a glass or plastic bottle with a wide mouth is the perfect summer project! Fill your crocheted vase with cuttings from plants, like heart shaped philodendron and pathos that can grow in water, or gather some wild flowers and enjoy. The rustic feeling of the large stitch makes it perfect for use indoors and out, not to mention that this project is a great stash buster, so go ahead and use up all those odds and ends! Come winter a crocheted vase like this is pastel colors looks great filled with branches, but if you feel like packing it away until next year, simply slip the sleeve off the bottle and store flat. And while you are at it, why not make a bunch to use when gifting a bouquet of flowers during the year, now that is a great gift!
